“Clipsal Heralds a Tough New Season in Carrera Cup”

Welcome everyone to our first race report for season 2006. After 2005 where we finished 6th in the championship I was busy putting together the elements required to run this year’s championship. That included buying a new car; the 997 model Carrera Cup car and e-signing old sponsors and some welcomed new ones.

We lost the support of Van Ek Construction who have been with us for several years but are going through a re-structuring of their business at the moment after a tough business year. Hopefully they will be back on board in the future when the business climate allows. Abcor have a reduced involvement, mainly due to their personal involvement with John Kaias, who will be running C/Cup also this year. Their support, through John, is still substantial though, and is most welcomed.

To fill the breach we have had some excellent support from ACER and in particular Frank Ugolini, who has had a huge part in brokering the support of our new sponsors Hitachi Data Systems and Leading Solutions. Hitachi Data Systems are a business partner of Acer and supply high storage solutions for the corporate and government environment.
